We’ve been proud to carry Munich-based brand The Glow since the early days of our store at mooi. To celebrate the launch of their latest product Bright Eyes, we asked The Glow Founder Anita about her favourite places in Munich and we’re honoured that she shared these great spots of the city that make 24 hours in Munich fly by. Just in time for Oktoberfest, get ready for your next trip to Munich with these insider tips.

BOTANISTA MUC

My ideal day in Munich starts with a big breakfast in the hip Glockenbach area. Try Botanista for a vegan, sugar-free but 100% delicious feast of smoothies, bowls, banana bread, avocado toast and all the other healthy staples you can think of.

If the weather’s really nice, you might want to grab your breakfast to-go and enjoy it alfresco on the banks of the Isar river, followed by a quick swim.

Wagner’s Juicery

Wagner’s Juicery has a great selection of hot and cold drinks and breakfasts and is located right next to the Reichenbachbrücke, just a stone’s throw from the Isar.

Gärtnerplatz

Afterwards, take a walk around the Gärtnerplatz area with all its little indie boutiques. Reichenbachstraße has a great selection of fashion, vintage furniture and jewellery stores. It leads you right up to the pretty Gärtnerplatz with its little opera house, more cafés and restaurants.

Viktualienmarkt

Keep exploring until you end up at Viktualienmarkt, Munich’s famous food market. It’s great just for a stroll, snacking or enjoying your lunch.

I like to stop at the Kaffeerösterei for some delicious hot chocolate and Florentiner pastry,  grab lunch at the Caspar Plautz market stall, which offers an amazing selection of dishes featuring potatoes and enjoy with a fresh juice from the stall right opposite.

Nicole Mohrmann

If you’re still keen on exploring, head to the city center for a little sightseeing or more retail therapy. A favourite shopping destination is Fünf Höfe, which also houses the Nicole Mohrmann boutique, amazing for luxe, quirky boho styles and accessories.

Kunsthalle

While you’re there, also check out the Kunsthalle, there’s always an interesting exhibition going on.

Pageou

If you’re ready for dinner, Pageou by star chef Ali Güngörmüs is right around the corner and offers a wonderful little secluded roof terrace.

Terrace bar of Bayrischer Hof

Or head to the terrace bar of the five star Bayrischer Hof hotel for your aperitif and a great view over Munich. They even have the Blue Spa with a pool up there, if you need some time off from sightseeing.

Englischer Garten

If you’re lucky enough to spend more time in Munich, think about renting a bike and heading to the northern part of the famous Englischer Garten, Europe’s largest park. The southern part is all groomed landscaping and beer gardens, the northern part however makes you feel like you’re in the countryside, far away from the city. Follow the Isar river until you find a great bathing spot. If you forgot to bring your swimsuit, it’s ok. Nobody bats an eyelid at nudity here.

On your way back into the city, stop to admire the famous Eisbach surfers, grab a bite at the Fräulein Grüneis Kiosk nearby and end your day with a sundowner on the terrace of the Goldene Bar in Haus der Kunst.
